What is the meaning of Solar Subsidy?
We know that Solar Energy is the free & clean energy and it reduces the dependency of natural resources, such as Water and Coal. Government wants to install solar power in each houses through which each home’s roof will produce self-energy. Government supports financially to install solar power in residential homes.
Why Government gives Solar Subsidy?
As per discussion with solar industry experts, Government started this scheme to promote solar in residential rooftop sectors, but Solar Subsidy gradually opsilities day-by-day due to government’s policy & procedures in 2020. It has no more clarity about this.
Kerala Government Solar Subsidy
For group housing society projects and residential welfare associations, with a capacity up to 500 kW, the center will provide a subsidy of 20%. If a customer wishes to install the plant investing the whole amount, they can choose to avail up to 40% of plant cost as subsidy.
- State subsidy Amount – Balance after consumer payment and CFA
- Central subsidy Amount – 40% for the first 3kW and 20% on remaining 7kW
- Size of the Rooftop Solar System – Up to 10kW
- Price for the customer – 12% of capital cost, if monthly consumption is 120 units, 20% for 150 units and 25% for 200 units.
