Solar Commissioning is the process that starts along with the construction of plants and proceeds through PV system acceptance.
While a lot is known and talked about EPC & O&M, not much is known about commissioning, which is a mandatory and significant process. For a novice in the solar field, it is important for him to know what the important process/checks while commissioning are. Additionally commissioning also ensures that the plant performs as expected/planned which in-turn drives its ROI.
Are you a developer, investor or contractor interested in utility segment, looking to increase your efficiencies at lower costs? Your search ends here as Breakthrough Engineering brings you a one-stop turnkey solar solution. With an array of the diverse solar project portfolio, our dedicated & efficient team and resources will fulfil all your project requirements and ensure timely delivery.
Documentation
Amongst the first of the steps would be to verify the entire installation and ensure that it is complete and matching with the power plant which was initially designed without any deviations. This includes checking of any bends or dents in structure which may reduce its strength.
Testing
After doing the initial inspections and documentation of plant, testing is the next most important step in the step of commissioning. The testing includes but not limited to PV module, earthing, inverter, wiring, etc because the plant is expected to last more than 25 years.
Latest Project Description
The CIAL Solar Power Project is a 40-megawatt photovoltaic power station built at COK airport, India, by the company Cochin International Airport Limited. Cochin International Airport became the first fully solar-powered airport in the world with the commissioning the plant.
The plant comprises 92,150 solar panels laid across 94 acres near the international cargo complex. It is capable of generating 100,000 units of electricity daily and is also equipped with supervisory control and data acquisition system also known as SCADA.
