Green Buildings use solar to optimizes energy efficiency and provides healthier spaces for occupants compared a conventional building.
The concept of green and sustainable building is not new, but has never been more important. In fact, the construction sector is one of the biggest contributors to climate change and buildings are responsible for much of the world’s energy waste. Green buildings incorporate a variety of techniques and practices to reduce and eventually eliminate the impact of buildings on the environment. The practice emphasizes using renewable resources such as both active and passive solar power. They also focus on having green rooftops featuring small trees, plants, and rain gardens that conserve water.
An active solar energy system, whether on the roof or ground-mounted, converts solar power to electricity. Solar panels provide energy independence, supplying clean, renewable energy for the life of the system.
Materials Used
Materials for a green building are obtained from natural, renewable sources that have been managed and harvested in a sustainable way; or they are obtained locally to reduce the embedded energy costs of transportation, or salvaged from reclaimed materials
Building Design
To meet the challenges of a green building environment, a new way of designing & construction has evolved, one that focuses of green building methods such as the use of natural, recycled and sustainable building materials; efficient design and use of water and power systems
Latest Project Description
Technopark, which is the greenest IT Park in India, had decided to construct the Kollam IT building as an energy-efficient structure. Technopark decided to achieve the same systemically and decided to get the building certified under LEED rating system. Considering the building design Technopark decided to certify the building as GOLD rated building.
his building is designed considering all aspects that minimize energy consumption and environmental pollution.
