Hybrid Solar Solutions

Hybrid solar systems generate power in the same way as an ongrid solar system but use special inverters and batteries to store energy for later use.

A solar hybrid system stores your excess solar energy and can also provide back-up power during a blackout. This is perfect for home owners although for the majority of businesses which operate during the daylight hours, a common grid-feed solar system is still the most economical choice. The ability to store and use your solar energy when desired is referred to as self-use or self-consumption. It works in the same way as an off-grid power system but the battery capacity required is far less, usually just enough to cover peak consumption (8 hours or less) as opposed to 3-5 days with a typical off-grid system. The most economical hybrid solar system uses a simple hybrid inverter which contains a solar inverter and battery inverter/charger together with clever controls to determine the most efficient use of energy.

Continuous power supply

These systems provide power continuously, without any interruption, as the batteries connected to them store the energy. When there is an electricity outage, the batteries work as inverter to provide you backup. This is also the case during the evening or night time when there is no sun and energy is not being generated; batteries provide the back-up and life goes on without any interruption.

Load management

Unlike traditional generators, which provide high power as soon as they turned on, most of hybrid solar power systems manage load accordingly. A hybrid solar system may have technology that adjusts the energy supply according to the devices they are connected to, whether it’s an air conditioner requiring high power or a fan which requires less.

Latest Project Description

The CIAL Solar Power Project is a 40-megawatt photovoltaic power station built at COK airport, India, by the company Cochin International Airport Limited. Cochin International Airport became the first fully solar-powered airport in the world with the commissioning the plant.

The plant comprises 92,150 solar panels laid across 94 acres near the international cargo complex. It is capable of generating 100,000 units of electricity daily and is also equipped with supervisory control and data acquisition system also known as SCADA.
